Welcome to Grindstone Ridge Farm! We are a small family operated farm located on South Mountain in Frederick County, Maryland. We raise purebred, registered Bluefaced Leicester Sheep, California Red Sheep, Angora Goats, Alpacas and Free Range poultry and ducks. All of our stock are raised as naturally as possible. We are learning and implementing sustainable agriculture methods for our farm. We jacket our California Reds to provide the cleanest fleeces possible. We double skirt the fleeces from the Leicesters and goats. We sell fleeces from the sheep and alpacas; mohair from the goats and Free Range eggs. Roving and yarn will be available soon.

 

 

Here is a snapshot of our first winter with Pebbles, the California Red ewe in the foreground and three Bluefaced Leicesters ewes in the background. They are waiting for me to go up the hill and feed them. You can call a sheep alot of things, but don't call them late for dinner!
